'Give Up Yer Aul Jersey' is a project being organised by the Transition Year students of Ennistymon CBS on behalf of 'Pemba Support' projects in Pemba Island, Tanzania. Any sports equipment, new or old, that you could donate can be collected from you by contacting Pemba Support (0657071024) or CBS (065 7071349). A pop up shop in Teach Ceoil, Ennistymon on 28th Nov from 10.30 am  to 7 pm will sell  these donated goods (raffle & auction at 6pm). Golf Classic in Castle Course, Lahinch on Sat 7th June:(See Poster on right)

 

The PSI Golf Classic was well attended and with 2 scores of 102 Stablefofd points, there was a high standard of golf.

Weather conditions were good and the day was enjoyed by all.

PSI would like to thank:

2). sponsors of Tee boxes, prizes and donations,

3). the many helpers in organising, catering, office work, preparing and  signing off on this event.

Report from Feb/March Vols

 

Report from the  ‘Pemba Support Walk’ on 23rd March

The committee of Pemba Support would like to thank all walkers who took part in their recent sponsored walk on the Green Road, Fanore. It was a day of blue skies and a wonderful atmosphere of people working together to help create a future for some of the most disadvantaged people in Africa

 

February 2014:

 

Volunteers:

 

Two volunteers will travel to Pemba on 23rd of Feb and return on the 11th March.

They will have an ambitious programme of networking with contacts in Dar es Salaam, Unguja and Pemba.

They hope to see the instalation of 15 new jersey cows in their own sheds.

They should see the drilling of wells, providing water to needy communities.

They will enable two deaf and dumb girls to further their education in sign language and skills as they transfer to a new school in Dar. They will enable a honey project and a vegetable project to develop.

They will research the feasability upgrading solar electricity in the Makundeni village with leprosy.  

As well as overseeing ongoing projects, they hope to extend the invaluable networking alredy undertaken by 'Pemba Support'.

The AGM of Pemba Support takes place in the Falls Hotel, Ennistymon on the 10th January at 8pm.

You are welcome to share with them in their work for the poorest people in Tanzania.
